Place vehicle on level ground with wheels blocked, put transmission in neutral for manual transmission models and in "park" for automatic transmission models during function test. Always disconnect anti-lock brake checker before driving vehicle. A collision can result from a reduction or complete loss of braking ability.

- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove front wheels.
- Drain transaxle.
- Raise locking tab on spindle nut, then remove nut.
