- Raise and support vehicle and remove wheel.
- Release parking brake.
- Remove dust cover, then remove and discard cotter pin.
- Remove adjusting cap and the wheel bearing nut, then the brake drum with outer bearing and washer.
- Remove anti-rattle spring and pin, Fig. .
- Remove return springs and brake shoes.
- Remove clevis pin and disconnect parking brake cable.
- Remove adjuster assembly.
- Apply suitable lubricant to lubricating points, Fig. .
- Rotate nut until adjuster rod is at its shortest length.
