DESCRIPTION
Two coolant fans, wired in parallel, operate whenever cooling is required.
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has two coolant fan control terminals, one for high speed and one for low speed. When the PCM's low speed control closes at connector C3, terminal C4, it grounds the low speed coolant fan relay coil. When the ignition switch is in the run position and relay contacts close, voltage is supplied to the coolant fans. CALIPER REMOVAL
- Remove 2/3 of the total brake fluid capacity from master cylinder reservoir.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
- Install two wheel retaining nuts to retain rotor in position.
- If caliper requires overhaul, remove inlet fitting attaching bolt, then disconnect inlet fitting from caliper housing. Discard the two gaskets, then plug openings in inlet fitting and caliper to prevent loss or contamination of fluid. Do not crimp brake hose, as this may damage internal structure of hose.

- Disconnect AIR pipe from catalytic converter and exhaust pipe.
- Disconnect electrical connector to oxygen sensor.
- Remove bolts securing muffler to hangers, disconnect exhaust pipes from manifolds and remove exhaust system as an assembly.
- Support transmission, remove support beam retaining bolts and support beam.

Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

The trouble codes can be accessed by connecting a suitable jumper wire between the ALDL connector link terminals B and A. The connector is located under the left side of the instrument panel. The Low Tire Pressure Warning Lamp will blink the trouble codes. The codes may also be accessed by connecting a suitably programmed scan tool to the ALDL connector.

If starter is noisy during cranking, remove one .015 inch double shim or add one .015 single shim to outer bolt.
