- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove accessory drive belt as follows:
- Remove right front wheel and tire assembly, then inner splash shield.
- Release belt tension by rotating the tensioner clockwise, then remove accessory drive belt.
- Drain cooling system.
- Remove three pump pulley bolts, then the pulley.
- Remove five pump mounting screws, Fig. , then the pump assembly.
- Remove and discard O-ring.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assemblies.
- Remove brake caliper assembly.
- Remove brake rotor by pulling it straight off mounting studs.
- Remove speed sensor cable routing bracket from strut assembly.
- Remove stub axle and hub retaining nut.
- Insert suitable pry bar between transmission case and driveshaft, then pry driveshaft from transmission. Do not pull on driveshaft and do not insert pry bar deep enough to damage oil seal. Only pry inner joint from retaining snap ring. Do not attempt to remove inner tripod joint from transaxle stub shaft.
