- Working through radio opening in instrument panel, disconnect flag atop heater/A/C housing, Fig. , then slip cable self adjustment clip upward from blend air door crank.
- Remove heater/A/C control as described under "Heater/A/C Control Unit, Replace," then squeeze flag to disconnect cable at control unit.
- Insert a suitable 3/16 inch diameter tool into crank hole to remove self adjustment clip from cable, Fig. .

- Using a suitable band type oil filter wrench to prevent clutch plate rotation, remove compressor shaft bolt, Fig. .
