  • Drain coolant into suitable container.
  • Remove bolts, then housing with coolant hose attached.
  • Remove thermostat.
  • Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
    • Ensure ball value is positioned at highest point.
    • Torque bolts to 53 inch lbs.

The thermostat will be destroyed if removed from cover. Thermostat and cover are replaced as an assembly only.
