When a Digital Monitor Electronics (DME) control module is replaced, it must be reprogrammed. The vehicle identification number, catalytic converter number corresponding to the catalytic converter version used and DME and immobilizer programming codes must be provided before programming DME.
- Connect Porsche system tester 2, or vehicle, to vehicle.
- Place ignition in On position.

- Remove heater and air conditioning system cover.
- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove mounting screws and front spoiler cover.
- Remove turn indicators and headlamp vent.
- Remove mounting bolts, spacers and front spoiler.
- Remove condenser air guide and disconnect temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect condenser lines using suitable counterholding wrench. Plug or cap lines and openings.

Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.
