When a Digital Monitor Electronics (DME) control module is replaced, it must be reprogrammed. The vehicle identification number, catalytic converter number corresponding to the catalytic converter version used and DME and immobilizer programming codes must be provided before programming DME.
- Connect Porsche system tester 2, or vehicle, to vehicle.
- Place ignition in On position.
- Select vehicle type.
- Select DME in control unit menu, then press double arrow key.
- Select PROGRAM CONTROL UNIT, then press double arrow key.

- Remove brake booster operating rod lockpin.
- Remove master cylinder attaching bolt from luggage compartment floor plate.
- Drain brake fluid reservoir.
- Disconnect electrical connectors for stop light switch, then the vacuum hose at brake booster and brake lines at master cylinder.
- Remove brake booster brace upper mounting bolt and booster base attaching nuts, then the master cylinder and booster as an assembly. Brace and operating rod do not have to be disconnected at pedal assembly to remove brake booster.
