The three speed electric cooling fan is controlled by the cooling fan control module through a coolant temperature sensor mounted in the radiator and a second thermo sensor mounted in the coolant manifold and by the A/C control system and the after run control module. Various fan speeds are chosen depending on coolant temperature and refrigerant pressure when the A/C system is On. The cooling fan can also be switched on after the ignition is turned Off if coolant temperature rises above 198°F by the after run control module to prevent hot soak starting problems.
