- Remove mounting screw and driver footwell duct.
- Disconnect cool air by-pass servo motor connector.
- Remove mounting screws and brackets, then the mounting screws and matrix clamps.
- Disconnect matrix lines.
- Remove mounting screw, plate and heater matrix.
- Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate new O-rings.

- Remove shaft nut or bolt, Fig. , with aid of spanner wrench.
- Remove pressure plate using pressure plate remover.
- Remove shims from shaft.
- Remove rotor (pulley) retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor (pulley) by gently tapping it with plastic hammer. Some compressors may require a jaw puller.
- Disconnect stator lead wires from compressor housing.

- Turn ignition switch to ON position.
- Move driver and front passenger seats fully rearward with motors.
- Disconnect negative battery cable as outlined under "Precautions."
- Remove driver's side steering wheel to air bag mounting bolts.
- Disconnect electrical connector, then remove air bag.
