- Place vehicle in neutral.
- Release parking brake.
- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft and front differential flanges.
- Remove bolts, nuts, and washers from differential flange.
- Suspend the front side of the propeller shaft.
- Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft and transfer flanges.
- Remove bolts, nuts, and washers from transfer flanges.
- Remove front propeller shaft.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque differential flange bolts to 54 ft. lbs.

This procedure describes a driveline equipped with cardan joint in tube yoke. Driveline equipped with companion/slip yoke repeat steps to remove remaining cardan joint.
- Place driveshaft on suitable workbench. Do not damage driveshaft when servicing on workbench. Ensure driveline and components are reference marked to prevent driveline imbalance. Do not tighten driveshaft too tightly in a vise because this will cause driveline to become out of balance and result in driveline vibration.

- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove engine under-cover.
- Drain differential oil.
- Remove drive shaft lock nut grease cap, using a screwdriver and hammer.
- Remove cotter pin and lock cap from drive shaft lock nut.
- With an assistant applying brakes, remove drive shaft lock nut.
- Remove cotter pin and nut from lower ball joint.
- Disconnect lower suspension arm, using a suitable pry tool.
