Master Cylinder

When a new master cylinder has been installed, or the system has been emptied or partially emptied, the master cylinder should be primed.

In Vehicle
  • Disconnect brake master cylinder outlet tubes.
  • Install short tubes with ends submerged in brake master cylinder reservoir, then fill master cylinder reservoir with clean, suitable brake fluid.
  • Have an assistant pump brake pedal until clear fluid flows from both brake tubes without air bubbles.
  • Remove short tubes and install brake outlet tubes.
  • Bleed each tube at master cylinder as follows:
