On Sable, Taurus and Taurus X models,the disc rotor is a hat section-type of composite steel and cast iron. A Rotunda Rotor Mounting Adapter tool No. 054-00032, or equivalent, is required for use on the brake lathe for refinishing. Failure to use the adapter will result in gouging the brake disc, making it unfit for use.
On Sable, Taurus and Taurus X models,if service is required, install the new full cast front disc rotors, part No. F10Y-1125-B, in pairs only. Never install a full cast rotor on one side of the vehicle...

- Apply parking brake control fully with 100 lbs., foot pedal effort, then release brake control.
- Place transmission in Neutral position, then raise and support vehicle.
- With parking brake control in Off position, grasp pensioner around housing.

Dual Piston Calipers
The caliper consists of a sliding bridge type caliper housing with dual pistons, caliper mounting frame and inner and outer friction pad assemblies, Figs. through . The caliper is located into and slides on the anchor frame by its thrust face and a locating pin and clip. The friction pads are retained into the anchor frame by the caliper sliding bridge assembly and use an anti-rattle spring clip to reduce brake noise.
