- Remove center hub cap from wheel.
- Loosen hub nut.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove hub nut and washer.
- Remove front brake anti-lock sensor harness from clip.
- Remove and position front brake anti-lock sensor aside.
- Remove and discard lower ball joint nut.
- Remove lower strut support nut and bolt. Discard nut.
- Using suitable tools, press ball joint stud until it is loose in knuckle.
- Wire knuckle to strut. This will prevent knuckle from falling off of strut while knuckle and lower ball joint are separated. Failure to follow these instructions may ...

- Release pressure in cooling system by slowly turning pressure relief cap 1/2 turn counterclockwise. When pressure is released, remove cap.
- Open radiator draincock and drain coolant into a suitable container.
- Disconnect MAF sensor, then remove air filter outlet tube.
- Remove air cleaner housing assembly, then the air filter housing bracket.
- On models equipped with engine block heater,disconnect three wiring harness retainers from cooling fan motor and shroud and position aside.
- On all models, raise and support vehicle, then remove under vehicle splash shield.
