DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2008 Saab 9-3 AUTOMOBILES
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Install -> Remove

Remove
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove wheel hub center nut.
- Remove lower engine cover.
- On convertible models, remove chassis reinforcement at front subframe.
- On all models, remove steering swivel member bolt, lower swivel arm and place a wedge tool No. 83 95 238 or equivalent between swing arm and anti-roll bar.
- Detach brake hose from clip and ABS harness holder. Turn wheel for better access.
- Press out drive shaft from wheel hub about 10 mm, using puller tool No. 89 96 951or equivalent.
- If removing lefthand drive shaft, proceed as follows:

- Disconnect charge air pipe from throttle body and pipe's upper mounting from fan cowling.
