Remove
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Place transaxle in gated park.
- Raise vehicle on hoist.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove cotter pin, nut lock, spring washer and hub nut from end of outer C/V joint stub axle.
- On models equipped with ABS, disconnect front wheel speed sensor and secure harness out of the way.
- Remove nut and bolt retaining ball joint stud into steering knuckle.
- Separate ball joint stud from steering knuckle by prying down on lower control arm. Use caution when separating ball joint stud from steering knuckle, so ball joint seal does not get damaged.

Tire Pressure Sensor
The cap used on this valve stem contains an O-ring seal to prevent contamination and moisture from entering the valve stem. Retain this valve stem cap for reuse. Do not substitute a regular valve stem cap in its place.
The valve stem used on this vehicle is made of aluminum and the core is nickel plated brass. The original valve stem core must be reinstalled and not substituted with a valve stem core made of a different material. This is required to prevent corrosion in the valve stem caused by the different metals.

- Loosen upper alternator T-bolt lock nut.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove right front wheel and tire.
- Remove accessory drive splash shield.
- Remove pencil strut from engine.
- Loosen alternator lower pivot bolt.
- Loosen accessory drive belt T-bolt.
- Disconnect electrical connectors from alternator.
- Rotate power steering and air conditioning drive belt tensioner clockwise, using a suitable tool.
