BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2009 Dodge Challenger AUTOMOBILES

Pressure Bleed
Use bleeder tank tool No. C-3496-B, or equivalent, and adapter tool No. 6921, or equivalent, to pressurize hydraulic system.
Normal pressure bleeder pressure should not be more than 35 psi. On models equipped with plastic reservoirs, do not exceed 25 psi bleeding pressure.
- Attach suitable clear plastic hose to bleeder screw and submerge other end into clear container with clean brake fluid.
- Open bleeder screw at least one full turn.
- Bleed 4-8 ounces of fluid through system until air free flow is maintained.
- Repeat procedure at all bleeder screws.

Front
Halfshaft inner and outer boots are not serviceable separately. Boot replacement requires entire shaft assembly replacement.
Lefthand halfshaft is shorter than right. Identify and tag halfshafts upon removal to ensure proper installation.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
- While holding link ball joint stem from rotating, remove stabilizer link to shock clevis bracket nut.
- Slide link ball joint stem from clevis bracket.
- Remove clevis bracket to bottom of shock nut and pinch bolt.
- Remove shock clevis bracket to lower control arm nut and bolt.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Rotate accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise until it contacts it's stop. Remove accessory drive belt, then slowly rotate tensioner into freearm position.
