- Undo staking and remove drive shaft nut.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
- Drain front differential oil into a suitable container.
- Disconnect tie-rod end from steering knuckle.
- Remove stabilizer joint from stabilizer bar.
- Remove brake hose mounting bolt.
- Remove suspension control arm.
- Remove front drive shaft flange nuts.
- Remove drive shaft assembly from front differential.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque drive shaft nut to 159 ft. lbs.
- Torque flange nuts to 58 ft. lbs.

- Remove air cleaner housing and outlet hose and lay aside.
- Disconnect wiring connector from back of alternator.
- Remove nut from alternator B+ terminal from back of alternator.
- Loosen adjusting bolt on belt tensioner. Using a suitable tool rotate belt tensioner clockwise to relieve tension from drive belt.
