- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove lug nut and wheel and tire assembly.
- Carefully raise staked portion of front axle wheel hub retainer by using a small cape chisel and a hammer.
- When loosening front axle wheel hub retainer, lock wheel hub by applying brakes. Remove and discard front axle wheel hub retainer. Front axle wheel hub retainer must never be reused.
- Remove stabilizer bar link from front suspension lower arm to ease separation of ball joint from ball joint clamp.

Allow radiator to cool prior to beginning following procedure. Slowly remove radiator cap to release system pressure. Caution must be used as system contains scalding hot fluid which when under pressure can blow out of radiator fill neck, causing personal injury.
