- Remove wheel hub cap.
- Remove rear axle wheel hub retainer using 36mm socket.
- Loosen wheel hub bolt nuts.
- Raise vehicle on a frame contact hoist. A frame contact hoist must be used to avoid damage to halfshafts and/or rear axle CV joint boots.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove rear brake anti-lock sensors. Damage to rear brake anti-lock sensors may result if they are not removed before removing halfshafts.

This lamp should light when the ignition is turned On. After engine starts, the lamp should go off, unless a fault condition is detected by the EEC-V system. If the lamp remains On or starts to blink, a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the PCM. Following diagnosis and repair, the Check Engine/MIL lamp will automatically reset when stored diagnostic trouble codes are cleared from PCM memory.
